The Nuffield Council of Bioethics has produced an excellent publication on the ethical issues which relate to cosmetic procedures. This is an important topic in medicine and dentistry with patients more commonly seeking cosmetic procedures. The publication does not place a value judgement on whether it is right or wrong to seek cosmetic treatment but simply considers how they can be done safely for patients with their welfare, in the widest sense, in mind.
