This article looks at a person centred approach to dental care and the biopsychosocial model of healthcare. This is in contrast to the traditional biomedical approach which defines health as merely the absence of disease. In contrast, the biopsychosocial approach considers a more holistic definition of health which takes into account social and psychological factors.
